Resistograph & PICUS Tomography

The two systems are used to assess decay, often associated with the presence of fungal fruiting bodies. 

The tomograph makes a non-invasive assessment and produces the images as shown below, which offers a clear in sight to how any decay is developing. A further assessment using Resistograph can be helpful to back up the findings, however, this is invasive as the tree is drilled with a micro-drill. 

The assessment is commonly used on important and/or protected trees to aid management objectives by quantifying any decay present and making an informed judgement.
